ISO 14064?

According to the information given, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) created ISO 14064, a standard that addresses the tracking, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Launched in the spring of 2006, it offers a framework for organisations, even those not covered by regulated or mandatory programs like the EU Emission Trading Scheme or the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) scheme, to track and report their emissions, also known as their carbon footprint.

Benefits:

  • To ensure consistency and comparability of data across various entities, ISO 14064 offers a standardised method for companies to measure, record, and verify their greenhouse gas emissions.
  • By precisely tracking and disclosing their greenhouse gas emissions, companies can demonstrate their dedication to environmental sustainability and responsibility by putting ISO 14064 into practice.
  • Organisations can identify potential for emission reduction and efficiency gains by tracking and disclosing greenhouse gas emissions, which provide important insights into their environmental effect and help make educated decisions.
  • Obtaining ISO 14064 certification attests to a company’s resolve to combat climate change and lower its carbon footprint, which benefits the company’s standing and credibility with stakeholders such as investors, customers, and government authorities.
