FSSC 22000

Based on the widely accepted ISO 22000 standard, FSSC 22000 is a food safety certification program that is enhanced by technical standards including ISO TS 22002-1 for food processing and ISO TS 22002-4 for packaging manufacture. 

The food, feed, and packaging manufacturing industries, as well as the storage and transportation, catering, and retail/wholesale sectors, are the specific industries that FSSC 22000 addresses. 

Although the scope of the current version of FSSC 22000 has been expanded to include other supply chain segments, the Global Food Safety Initiative, or GFSI, only recognized the first edition of the standard, which only applied to food producers.
