ISO 22000
What is ISO 22000?
An appropriate framework for implementing a food safety management system (FSMS) is ISO 22000:2018, which is used by enterprises all throughout the food chain to help deliver food that is safe to eat. The present standard for ISO 22000 is being replaced by ISO 22000:2018.
Since the initial standard was released more than ten years ago, there have been substantial changes in the ways that food is grown, transported, made, and even consumed. In light of these modifications, the new standard attempts to assist businesses in lowering the risks to food safety.
The new edition of ISO 22000 standardised risk-based thinking and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle in addition to making it simpler to integrate the resulting FSMS with other ISO management systems. ISO 22000 helps enterprises lower risk exposure and increase safety by combining PDCA and risk-based thinking to manage business risk with HACCP to detect, avoid, and control food safety hazards.
